Kent Hovind Trial Day 6 - Hovindicators Feeling Upbeat About Doc Dino's Testimony

Kent Hovind is one of the leading lights in the field of Young Earth Creationism, the notion that there is scientific evidence for a hyper-literal reading of the Book of Genesis. YEC implies that the world is roughly 6,000 years old and dinosaurs and humans must have co-existed.  Nearing the end of a long sentence for tax related crimes, Hovind finds himself on trial this week for fraud and contempt of court related to filings on properties seized in connection with his first conviction.  His co-defendant Paul John Hansen was the trustee of Creation Science Evangelism, Hovind's ministry. Hansen challenges the authority of the government in many areas, including the right to bring him to trial in the federal court in Pensacola.

Yesterday was Day 6 of the trial and probably the best part of the show as Kent Hovind took the stand in his own defense.  My team which is also dedicated to getting the story behind the story behind the story has not yet filed their report on yesterday's proceedings as I write this at 6:30 AM.  So all I have to go on is LoneStar1776

The Hovindicators are quite pleased with how the day went.  Apparently Kent Hovind got to put on a five and a half hour Gish Gallop.  Prosecutor Tiffany Eggars, who moves like a volleyball player, was satanic as she tried to trip him up and treated him sarcastically, but he persevered as a godly man.

One of the marshals wanted to privately interview Rudy, but he declined unless he could record and have a witness present.

Today will  be final arguments and jury instruction.  Here is Kent discussing the days proceedings with Erin Davis who kept the home fires burning while Rudy put his boots on the ground in Pensacola

My only solid prediction at this point is that this case is not going to end well. I have been wavering as new things are revealed, but I think .  Right now I am back to my original take on the case from this July post.
I really think that the government’s criminal prosecution of Kent for filing some pointless papers is a bit over the top.

The purpose of prosecuting people for tax related crimes is to encourage compliance.  The effect of this particular prosecution may be to have shifted a few more people into sovereign citizen nuttery

I hate being a passive spectator, so what I am going to root for is an outcome that will surprise me.

 Other Coverage

Kevin Robinson of Penscola New Journal reported on the first part of Hovind's testimony but not the cross examination.

Ernie Land, Hovindicator in chief, had his gag order lifted allowing him to appear on God's Property Radio.  I haven't invested the lifespan in listening to it yet.  Bob Baty tells me that at around 12:00 they discuss my membership in the Society of Jesus. So you can understand the delay in getting my team's report.  Those nihil obstats take time.

Seriously the false reports of Peter J Reilly SJ are indicative of Hovindicators running with any possible conspiracy theory regardless of how dated. What I told Ernie was that I had gone to Jesuit schools for eight years - a not uncommon fate for a bright Catholic boy who grows up in the metro New York Area.  If you go to a Jesuit high school, there were good odds that you would go to a Jesuit college.
